About The Position

Keep businesses up and running as the on-site expert they rely on. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll travel to customer locations to diagnose and repair office equipment, tackle mechanical, electronic, and basic networking issues, and ensure software and devices are working smoothly—all while training users, building strong customer relationships, and playing a key role in their day‑to-day productivity. The Field Technician would be servicing the area around Waterloo, IA and north into southern Minnesota. JOB SUMMARY The Field Service Technicians is responsible for office equipment repair at customer location, meeting with the customer to determine the problem or need and work towards a resolution. The Field Service Technician resolves issues that can be related to areas such as mechanical, electronic, basic computer networks, media, and software. The Field Service Technician may also train users on how to utilize the office equipment properly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and computer competent
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, customer facing environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Detailed orientated and organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with constant ongoing training
  • Excellent verbal and written customer focused communication skills to effectively respond in a professional and friendly manner
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be effective at troubleshooting, problem solving, and coordinating solutions
  • This position requires driving regularly
  • Maintain a good driving record and have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Communicates daily activities between: Call Coordinators regarding service call activity and completion Parts personnel for the procuring and status of repair parts Management to ensure that all possible resources have been made available for the proper maintenance and repair of equipment or support for software/applications Other service technicians for additional support working within a team environment Customers to understand their needs with focus on their satisfaction Sales personnel to best meet customer expectations
  • Responsible for the following training tasks: Train customers in the operation and functionality of equipment Utilize self-paced, group, and conventional classroom training to insure competency
  • Maintain the following: Supplied tools, computing devices A clean vehicle with a organized area for parts inventory An accurate inventory of parts and supplies required to maintain assigned equipment
  • Responsible for income generation through: Referrals to sales department personnel identifying potential to place new equipment Accurately billing for services rendered to install, maintain, and repair equipment
