We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician/Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Spanish and comfortable traveling to and working in Mexico. This position is responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repairs to our clients' equipment, ensuring their optimal functionality. The technician will effectively install, commission, and support Applied Vision inspection technologies, while also caring for and developing business relations with customers through effective technical support and communication. The role involves performing audits of spare parts inventories and equipment at customer facilities to promote Applied Vision after-sales offerings. Additionally, the technician will conduct specialized training for customers both onsite and at Headquarters on equipment usage. Domestic travel is expected to be up to 75%, with occasional international travel required. The technician will troubleshoot equipment issues using an analytic approach and methodologies, understand installation processes, and utilize drawing files and electrical schematics. The ability to work with computers, navigate files and windows, and load software is essential. Understanding encoder logic, timing, and sensor offsets is also necessary. The technician will work closely with customers to help them understand Applied Vision technology and will effectively communicate with external customers and internal functional teams to achieve quick resolutions. Monitoring, documenting, and tracking time on projects, as well as providing accurate and timely timesheets and trip reports, are key responsibilities. The technician will collaborate closely with colleagues and Applied Vision functional teams to create and explain effective inspection strategies that support customer needs. Attention to detail is crucial, particularly in cable management and installation cleanliness. The technician will also utilize various electrical and mechanical instrumentation to assist with troubleshooting and installations, and provide remote diagnostic support to customers over the phone. The role requires a passion for maximizing overall performance to meet customer needs and expectations, as well as achieving Customer Service department KPIs. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
