This is a fully proficient and senior level position responsible for one or more operational compression jobs with direct responsibility for the operation of compressor packages, gas processes, and rentals. The role provides feedback for the development of the location's operating policies and material forecasts for assigned units, requiring advanced diagnostic and repair skills. The position may backfill Lead and assist other field positions on occasion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: OEM, Trade School and/or 5+ years comparable work experience in a related field/industry.
  • Successful completion of Kodiak's Short Service Employee (SSE) program, plus a minimum of 3 years in an intermediate level Field Technician role.
  • Deep knowledge in gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.).
  • 5+ years of compression process, production, and equipment related experience and/or training.
  • Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting skills.
  • Main competencies: teamwork, effective communication (both written and oral), analytical capability, strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, initiative, planning and problem solving, and customer focus.
  • Possess advanced and complete knowledge of compressor packages, including all components and systems.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid Driver's License with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within acceptable parameters of Company Policy required.
  • CAT Certifications preferred.
  • Waukesha Certification preferred.
  • Ariel Certification.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities in a manner consistent with the Company's goals and objectives.
  • Takes initiative and fulfills duties according to Kodiak procedures.
  • Acts as the informal mentor and leader in the area.
  • Troubleshoots all complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical issues.
  • Participates in all HSE related activities, demonstrating expert knowledge in HSE procedures and policies.
  • Cultivates, builds, and maintains customer relationships.
  • Ensures guaranteed 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment.
  • Provides input to the Area Manager on personnel needed for timely and economical maintenance.
  • Analyzes job parts and supply inventory to communicate with Supply Chain for optimal job performance.
  • Maintains assigned units in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Completes reports and actions required by the area's operating procedures/policies.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage for the duration of each 14-day shift.
  • Works overtime and is available for on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.
  • May backfill lead as necessary.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
