About Us: Groff Tractor & Equipment is a leading provider of heavy construction equipment services, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and operation of Paving and Milling equipment as well as Material Processing equipment (crushers, screeners, conveyors, grinders). With a commitment to excellence and safety, we serve clients across various industries, ensuring their equipment operates at peak efficiency. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician with expertise in Paving and Milling equipment as well as Material Processing equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics involved in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the uptime and performance of our clients' machinery, contributing to their operational success.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, with a focus on PMP machines is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and tools effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established protocols.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications or trade school education a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on PMP equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Perform component rebuilds and replacements as necessary, ensuring equipment meets performance standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex issues accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet service deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage and labor hours.
