About The Position

The Field Service Technician (Level 3) position is a skilled role primarily responsible for the installation, setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of various vending, cooling, and fountain equipment at customer accounts. This includes ice and frozen beverage equipment, as well as sealed refrigeration systems. The technician will work independently, often in direct contact with customers, and will be required to diagnose equipment problems, using their judgment to determine the best course of action for repair or replacement. The role demands a high level of physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pulling, and moving items weighing between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Additionally, the technician may need to move vending machines that weigh between 800 and 1200 pounds, which requires physical strength and stamina. The technician will be expected to perform preventative maintenance on marketing equipment, unload and reload products as necessary, and maintain sealed refrigeration systems. They will also be responsible for completing all refrigerant documentation in accordance with EPA regulations and educating customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures. The installation of equipment involves making holes and routing lines to connect products to dispensing units, as well as connecting water and gas supplies and finding drains for units with ice. The technician will fill installed equipment and adjust it to the proper mixture, drive to various locations to evaluate situations, and perform necessary work that may include plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, and carpentry. Accurate documentation of equipment and customer information is crucial, and the technician will need to maintain a parts inventory on their service truck. Establishing positive relationships with contacts during service calls is essential, as is completing documentation on an e-pad after each call. The technician must adhere to all safety requirements, regulations, and processes, follow driving rules when operating a company vehicle, and maintain OEM certifications. Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is a key expectation for this role.
