About The Position

Avtron is seeking to hire a Field Service Technician – Level 2 who will perform field service activities at customer sites. Our customers include data centers, healthcare, government, and other industries requiring mission critical power. The Field Service Technician – Level 2 will travel to customer locations to perform startup services, maintenance services, field modifications, troubleshooting, and repair of Avtron Power Solutions’ products. The Field Service Technician – Level 2 will work with Field Service management to ensure world-class service is provided on a timely and consistent basis. This role requires strong communication skills, follow-up skills, organizational skills, collaboration and teamwork skills, and the ability to work either independently or as part of a crew. This position will be based in the United States but may travel North and South America, if needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to act as a mentor within the Field Service team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ field service experience, preferably in power generation and backup power, or equivalent military experience
  • Electrical wiring diagram and schematic knowledge
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams through verbal and written communication
  • Willingness to work overtime and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, as required
  • Must be available to travel on short notice

Nice To Haves

  • Networking and/or electronic communication experience a plus
  • Experience with fluid systems, chill water systems a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform field modifications, complex troubleshooting and repair, and critical issue resolution on low voltage and medium voltage electrical power equipment
  • Perform startup and routine maintenance on low voltage and medium voltage electrical power equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
  • Perform equipment testing to confirm proper function and identify operational issues
  • Provide detailed documentation of all service visits within the specified timeframe
  • Write MOPs and SOPs as needed to comply with on-site testing requirements
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide guidance on potential upgrades or improvements
  • Adhere to Avtron Power Solutions’ safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Field Service team members to improve service delivery
  • Provide feedback from field observations to improve product and assembly quality
  • Act as team leader on large scale or complex service requests
  • Act as a mentor to Level 1 Field Service Technicians
  • Travel up to 90%
