About The Position

Summary: The Field Service Technician I I - Solar BESS will collaborate and assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale BESS facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site ass ets such as battery storage units, switchgears, power inverters and substations.

Requirements

  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • 3 + years or more Related maintenance experience required .
  • Basic knowledge of: High voltage electrical power systems
  • Intermediate Knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Low voltage and medium voltage e lectrical power systems
  • Drawings
  • C ircuit theory
  • OSHA regulations
  • Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.)
  • Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation
  • Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)
  • ANSI/NETA/MTS
  • SCADA systems
  • Advanced Hand tools
  • Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
  • Domestic travel 50 % required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree Related Technical Degree preferred.
  • Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes direction from senior site personnel.
  • Sets positive example for junior technicians.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage and medium voltage AC power systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Uses hand tools effectively and appropriately .
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ma i n t a ins inventory of spare parts and consumables .
  • Follows site sa fety plan and safe work practices.
  • Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interfaces with and oversees project subcontractors.
  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and C ompany Policies & Procedures.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properl y.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
