About The Position
The Field Service Technician II position at SICK INC is a remote role primarily focused on supporting various SICK Services and Products throughout North America, particularly in the oil and gas sector. This position requires a significant amount of travel, estimated at 75-80%, as the technician will be working off-shore, in-shore, and on vessels. The technician will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing customer expectations, and supporting various Services Organization programs. In this role, the technician will build support structures and populate them with SICK equipment, which necessitates the use of hand tools and basic construction knowledge. The technician will also be tasked with making electrical connections of SICK equipment and configuring SICK products using a laptop and configuration software. Onsite commissioning of installed equipment will be a key responsibility, following established criteria to ensure proper operation. The technician must be adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing, and replacing SICK equipment as needed. Additionally, the technician will create equipment configuration files and make necessary changes with limited guidance. Providing outstanding technical support during normal business hours, whether working from the office or home, is essential. Regular attendance, punctuality, and the ability to provide accurate and timely service reports, timecards, and travel expenses are also critical components of this role. The technician will be required to attend training sessions as assigned and carry out other duties as may be required.
