The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants). 📍 Tucson, AZ - remote.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required; Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
  • 2 or more years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • This position requires occasional rental of vehicles or booking of hotel rooms for business travel.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and/ or hotel rooms under applicable state law are required.
  • This position will be primarily based in Tucson, AZ, with potential assignments within the Gulf Coast or the greater Southern region as business needs arise.
  • This position requires daily travel to customer sites.
  • Overnight stays may occur occasionally as needed, with company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals provided.
  • Occasional travel to other states within the region is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance , routine repair , and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc....Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2)
  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.
  • Daily travel to customer sites. This role will be based in the Tucson, AZ, area and supports our customers throughout the territory. Expect up to 75% travel. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays. You can expect to have 1 or 2 overnight stays per week.
