About The Position

The Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection Field Service Technicians (FST) are required to provide World Class support to our customers through start-ups, audits, maintenance, repair, and training of Safeline X-Ray, Safeline Metal Detectors, Hi-Speed Checkweighers, or CI Vision machines. PI FST's are responsible for managing all aspects of field service support including the following: communications between customers and the service department, effective scheduling, detailed preparation of written reports and documentation, and maintenance of job assignments, while always keeping in mind to follow MT PI procedures and best practices. To be eligible for this internship, you must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring any employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This includes CPT, OPT, F-1, J-1, H-1B, or any other employment-based visa.

Requirements

  • Ability to use all types of hand tools and digital test equipment
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems
  • Working mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and the ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Self-motivated for high performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight time constraints.
  • High School Diploma or a GED required.
  • Associate of Science in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in English and Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

  • Satisfy all Safety Requirements for both MT-PI and Customer Sites
  • Attend tier calls led by a Regional Service Manager
  • Efficiently execute scheduled service calls as directed from Dispatch or Management while taking into account cost, time, and customer needs/expectations
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships; Become the customer's trusted advisor
  • Identify root cause of service issues (first time fix)
  • Accurately complete and submit all service reports and documentation per service activity, timesheets, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Keep up with ongoing technical training
  • Weekend/afterhours work as required based on workload and rotation
  • Maintain company supplied equipment, tools, and inventory
