The Field Service Technician I is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service, performing preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibrating and verifying Hach devices at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants). This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in the Port St Lucie/Vero Beach/West Palm Beach, FL area and will be remote. In this role, a typical day will look like: Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work. Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems. Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc....Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure. Follows safe work practices according to company policy. Executes administrative activities in support of service visits. Daily travel to customer sites with 2-3 overnights per week. This role will be based in the Port St Lucie/Vero Beach/West Palm Beach, FL area and supports our customers throughout the state of Florida. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays.

Requirements

  • HS Degree or Equivalent Required; Associates/Technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair - Basic mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • You have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
  • This position requires daily travel to customer sites, typically within a 2-hour radius of the home office. On average, 50% of weekly travel will include overnight stays.
  • Occasional travel to other states within the region is expected, with trips lasting up to one week at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.
