The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants). This position is part of the North America Field Service Team 📍 Sacramento, CA - Remote Multiple locations have been listed for marketing purposes but only one position is available. In this role, you will:

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required; Associates/Technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair
  • 2 or more years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • You have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc. Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2)
  • 50-75% travel within a 2-hour radius from Sacramento, CA. You can expect to have up to on average 1-3 nights away each week with company-paid accommodations and meals.
