About The Position

The Field Service Technician I at Aventiv Technologies is responsible for the maintenance and repair of telecommunication equipment, including computers, networking, and electronic devices. This role involves heavy travel to various locations to resolve technical issues, provide support for tablet customers, and ensure the proper functioning of Securus products within correctional facilities. The technician will also assist in training users and managing inventory related to the equipment.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• One (1) year of installation, repair, and maintenance of communication and networking devices.
• Experience working with Windows OS, VOIP, and wireless technology.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of installation, repair, and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Previous experience working in law enforcement or correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair phones, kiosks, video terminals, WAPs, tablets, and other required equipment within correctional facilities.
• Act as the primary representative between on-site facility personnel and Securus personnel for tablet setup and maintenance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues with tablets.
• Ensure security measures are in place to prevent misuse of tablets.
• Assist with software updates and installations on tablets.
• Manage user accounts and access permissions on tablets.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate tablet usage schedules.
• Train incarcerated individuals on effective and responsible tablet use.
• Communicate with dispatchers to receive work assignments and provide ETA for arrival and departure.
• Troubleshoot situations where standard procedures have failed and interface with multiple departments for problem resolution.
• Educate and train Securus customers on products and services.
• Provide administrative services as needed, including data entry and customer reporting.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and tools, managing assigned company inventories and assets.
