Install and repair broadband communications system in compliance with company technical standards from consumer service to the exterior fiber terminal. Duties & Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: As an FTTH Installer, you will install, terminate, and test Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks in residential and business locations. Work with customers to ensure a smooth installation process, answer questions, and educate them about the benefits of FTTH. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to FTTH installations. Adhere to all safety and quality standards. Keep accurate and detailed records of all installations and maintenance activities. Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with new FTTH technologies and best practices. Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades and change-of-service, for phone, internet or video services Install and relocate outlets Install interior and exterior wiring Connect peripheral equipment Train customers on proper use of equipment Assure proper signal levels and picture quality Identify causes of picture and/or signal degradation Troubleshoot from consumer device to tap Troubleshoot, repair and replace components from tap to consumer device Assure system security by terminating unused ports and tag drops and locking pedestals Understand/apply FCC and NESC technical standards Identify and report all incidents of noncompliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA and WOW standards) Performs network troubleshooting including ping test, trace routes and speed test.
