About The Position

A Field Service Technician is engaged in a variety of technical on-site and off-site customer service projects, customer technical support, customer technical training and internal team training. They provide service and training in a broad array of industrial automation products including, but not limited to, drives, programmable controllers, motion control, networking, and operator interface.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in an automation technology field
  • 3+ years of experience in implementation of automation solutions to customers
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Requires knowledge of and the ability to use Microsoft office products including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel regularly through assigned territory. Some overnight travel is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a controls engineering field
  • Experience in a field service role

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for equipment and systems.
  • Configuration and programming of hardware or software at customer sites.
  • Collaborate with customers during the commissioning process to ensure successful implementation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and applications.
  • Perform customer services on controllers, operator interface, software installation, program transfer, and firmware flashing.
  • Consult with industrial team on project specification requirements.
  • Assist pre-sales team with project scope definition and estimating resources.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits and equipment status.
  • Deliver technical training to internal and external customers.
  • Address technical inquiries from customers regarding industrial control issues, develop appropriate solutions, and support the implementation of those solutions to ensure effective resolution.
  • Log and maintain customer interactions in the Customer Relations Management (CRM).
  • Provide completed program files and summary of work.
  • Self-manage schedule and prioritize workload.
