About The Position

As a Commercial Field Service Technician, you will be empowered to work across the entire Tesla organization to problem solve and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy field service execution. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's commercial products such as solar PV systems, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. The focus of this role would primarily be solar PV systems. This position will require 100% travel and candidate should reside in contiguous United States (lower 48 states).

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience PV equipment and installation, preferably commercial or utility scale
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment
  • Ability to read electrical plan sets and equipment manuals
  • Previous experience working with power/hand tools and electrical equipment
  • Ability to navigate numerous computer applications and technology independently
  • Ability to work at great heights and in extreme environments
  • Perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties and lift at least 50lbs frequently
  • Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment
  • Ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 300 lbs.
  • Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 300 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

  • Layout and assist in the assembly of solar modules/array, mounting hardware, and electrical equipment
  • Organize trucks for installs/removals for the upcoming day making sure everything is neat and organized
  • Perform required preventive maintenance activities on Commercial PV systems and capable of training/mentoring others in the team as needed
  • Respond to corrective maintenance cases on all commercial energy products and updating online case logs accurately
  • Respond to customers' concerns with the performance or functionality of their system
