About the position
The position involves performing installation and maintenance of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP) in various well sites. The role requires monitoring, troubleshooting, and testing downhole ESP equipment to maximize well productivity and extend the run life of the equipment. The technician will also be responsible for starting up new producing wells, optimizing both downhole and surface equipment, and addressing any non-productive time (NPT) issues. Daily responsibilities include maintaining service trucks, completing timesheets, and providing training to other personnel. The technician must adhere to safety guidelines and company policies while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs installation/pull of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP).
- Assists in monitoring, troubleshooting, and testing downhole ESP equipment to maximize well productivity and extend ESP run life.
- Collects information during testing and inspection to provide customers with recommendations on equipment status.
- Starts up new producing wells and restarts down wells.
- Optimizes downhole and surface equipment.
- Troubleshoots wells experiencing non-productive time (NPT).
- Maintains service truck and performs daily inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Adjusts quickly to changing job assignments and requirements, with flexibility to work overtime with little or no advance notice.
- Completes daily timesheet of hours worked.
- Provides training to other NOV personnel on systems and equipment as needed.
- Collaborates frequently with internal and external customers.
- Communicates field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
- Completes and submits field service documentation and daily reporting in a timely manner.
- Follows all PPE requirements guidelines and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Complies with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- Utilizes safe work habits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Mechanical or electrical background required.
- Start-up and troubleshooting experience with ESPs required.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to travel on a weekly basis and work overtime as required.
- Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel.
- Standing, walking, bending/stooping, push/pull, and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
