Ziegler Ag Equipment has a Field Service Ag Technician position open to work on the full line of Ag equipment from planting to harvest equipment to support customers surrounding our St Cloud branch. The pay range for this position is $37.00 to $49.00 Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience.
  • Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers, and team members.
  • Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
  • Own mechanic tool set.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck.
  • Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period.
  • Obtain a DOT medical certification card.
  • Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to this role being deemed safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment at the customer’s location.
  • Use a high degree of independent judgment to repair a variety of complex equipment and tools, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems.
  • Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
  • Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs.
  • Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory.
