About The Position

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Transformer Field Services Technician (A) responsible for the installation, repair, and service of power transformers. This role requires extensive travel to customer sites and involves leading a team of technicians to complete various projects related to transformers with high-side voltages ranging from 4160V to 765kV.

Requirements

• Detailed knowledge of installation, repair, and service of power transformers.
• Technical knowledge to perform standard electrical testing.
• Ability to lead and manage a team of technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside crews of 2 to 8+ technicians to complete assigned projects.
• Perform installation, repair, testing, maintenance, relocation, scrap, inspection, and retrofit of transformers.
• Act as the onsite point of contact for customers and subcontractors during project execution.
• Strategically assign tasks to crew members to minimize costs and project duration.
• Identify and report project nonconformances to Project Management and Engineering.
• Perform electrical testing of transformers and reactors, including bushing power factor & capacitance, core megger, CT ratio & polarity, TTR, winding resistance, insulation power factor, insulation resistance, excitation, SFRA, DFR, leakage reactance, and control cabinet functional checks.
• Provide input during the project-planning phase regarding project schedule and manpower requirements.
• Promote a safety-first approach and maintain compliance with all EHS requirements.
