About The Position

The Field Service Technician I is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment such as ignition, governor, lubrication and engine control systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form.
• Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.
• A clean driving record and be at least 21 (for field vehicle assignment & operation).
• May be required to pass a DOT physical, have or obtain MSHA certification, and other job-specific certifications as needed.
• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Install related wiring and bend conduit.
• Install, test and troubleshoot digital control systems on natural gas compressors.
• Use hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software to troubleshoot control systems.
• Understand basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Maintain basic working knowledge of engine and compressor lubrication systems.
