As Transportation Supervisor, you will oversee the transportation department, supervising on-site Technicians. Act as the liaison between customer service, operations and the support team.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are always maintained.
Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers will be serviced by the end of day.
Redirect manpower and resources as required, in order to service customers on routes that may have operational difficulties.
Manage driver debrief process for every route.
Ensure there is documentation for every customer transaction.
Update route comments as required.
Maintain a high standard of customer service as measured by key metrics.
Manage open order report to resolve service issues.
Manage customer interaction records to resolve service issues.
Monitor operations and staff and recommend changes in methods, procedures, structure, and personnel.
Monitor department work productivity, report on trends, and recommend and implement changes to improve productivity.
Review payroll hours to ensure overtime hours are necessary and all employees are working efficiently.
Manage route vehicles, containers, PDT’s and printers.
Select, train, and develop an effective and efficient staff.
Establish and communicate performance standards and objectives; conduct performance appraisals.
Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
Coach employees on educational and job opportunities.
Conduct team meetings to keep staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments.
Perform 'ride a-longs' to ensure CSRs operate safely and efficiently.
Conduct 'spot checks' to reinforce proper CSR behavior.
Perform pre-employment screening activities and new CSR orientation.
Complete daily yard walk.
Track and input DOT hours/JJ Keller.
Administer Company policies and procedures and ensure compliance and safety.
Monitor and ensure that employees are performing their functions safely and productively.
Conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings.
Oversee and participate in the maintenance of Driver Qualification Files, DOT Log Files and Vehicle Condition Reports.
Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience driving with CDL B license
2+ years of supervisory experience
Experience using an integrated fleet, driver and compliance management software
Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft programs

In depth knowledge of DOT regulations
Experience with JJ Keller software
Experience in hazardous waste industry
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
Ability to manage several tasks at once to meet deadlines
