About The Position

The Field Service Superintendent is responsible for enforcing, training, investigating, and overseeing the service field staff's safety policy acceptance and compliance. This role includes attending safety-related meetings, reviewing near misses and accidents, and authorizing root causes for incidents. The superintendent will assist with new hire orientations, oversee field training, and direct outside training classes for technicians. Additionally, the position involves performing truck inspections, job site inspections, and ensuring contractual compliance and customer satisfaction during first-time PMs over $5,000. The superintendent will also assist in staffing maintenance accounts, recruiting support for field staff, and providing field support to Dispatch, Sales, and Project Production Staffs. Mentoring and training future field leadership is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Extensive HVAC field knowledge with a minimum of 15 years service field experience.
  • Extensive safety knowledge and training with a minimum of 15 years field experience.
  • Knowledge of local union requirements including national agreements.
  • Supervisory and leadership experience in the service HVAC field for a minimum of 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce, train, investigate and oversee service field staff's safety policy acceptance and compliance.
  • Attend safety-related meetings and review near misses, accidents, and field investigations.
  • Authorize root causes for incidents and initiate follow-up or procedural changes.
  • Assist with new hire orientations for service technicians and complete readiness checklists.
  • Oversee field training of technicians, including Mesa Certification and on-the-job training.
  • Direct outside training classes for technicians according to requirements.
  • Perform field evaluations for technicians to ensure a qualified staff.
  • Conduct yearly truck inspections and oversee vehicle lease program evaluations.
  • Perform job site inspections as required.
  • Be on-site for all first-time PMs over $5,000 to ensure compliance and satisfaction.
  • Work with Area Supervisors to staff maintenance accounts.
  • Assist in monthly contract renewal meetings.
  • Provide recruiting support for field staff and maintain crew levels.
  • Respond to customer field-related issues in person.
  • Participate in monthly team safety meetings.
  • Identify, mentor, and train future field leadership.
