Summary: The Field Service Representative (FSR) provides field support across LSPI's North America customer base in all aspects of injection equipment and product management. This is a hands-on technical position that requires both electrical and mechanical acumen. Equipment management includes injection system installation and site start-up, customer training on routine and preventative maintenance, safe equipment operation, and troubleshooting. Product management includes monitoring of product history, usage, and condition, training on product storage, recirculation, handling, maintenance, and spill and waste disposal procedures. These activities are to be conducted in a way that meets customer needs within the guidelines LSPI (LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc) has identified to ensure a high degree of product and injection system quality and reliability. This position is a home-office based role. The ideal location will be within fifty (50) miles of Las Vegas, Nevada. The FSR must maintain a home office; a local parts, equipment, and tool storage location; and an approved half-ton pickup truck (see Remote Work Requirements section below). Travel by pickup truck or airplane is required 50% or more of the time. Receives functional guidance from the Regional Manager, Field Services. Role is not limited to the listed responsibilities and may include other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of safe work practices in plant and remote site operations - and commitment to working safely without exception.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of I&E and/or mechanical equipment/technical hands-on experience in an oilfield, manufacturing, chemical plant, or similar industry setting.
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation equipment, including, but not limited to, flow meters, transmitters, and transducers.
  • Able to deal with customers in a proactive, professional, and ethical manner.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office software, typical inventory/asset management software, and technology used in field settings.
  • Willingness to travel and ability to work remotely.
  • Able to independently set goals and work schedule - and complete with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written/electronic.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a current/valid Passport and "TWIC" card or the ability to obtain both with no precluding factors.
  • Maintain a home office which includes high speed internet (internet cost is reimbursable).
  • Maintain and stock a local storage unit for equipment, tools, parts, and job-related materials (these items either provided by or reimbursed by Company).
  • Maintain compliance with company home office policies.
  • Maintain a personal vehicle that meets the following minimum requirements: 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck. 4 doors extended or crew-cab. Truck age must be less than 4 years. Maintain minimum company insurance requirements per policy. Vehicle must qualify for the MOTUS vehicle reimbursement program utilized by Company (see criteria above). Qualified fixed and variable costs are reimbursed by Company.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the pipeline and/or DRA (Drag Reducing Agent) industry.
  • Knowledge of injection system technology.
  • Working knowledge of Siemens or similar PLC (Programmable Logic Control).
  • Associate's degree in Electronics/Electronics Technology or equivalent training and certification.

Responsibilities

  • This role provides support in all aspects of equipment management in a designated geographic area and/or in support of other FSR's in need of additional resources. Equipment management includes injection system installation and site start-up, preventive maintenance (PM) visits, responding to callouts and equipment questions from customers, and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a responsible team member for all customer field-related equipment issues and for all field-related product management issues. Product management includes monitoring product history, usage, and condition, training on product storage, recirculation, handling, maintenance, spill and waste disposal procedures.
  • Conduct training with customer field personnel on both routine and scheduled preventative equipment maintenance, proper equipment operation, troubleshooting and safety practices. This training will be conducted with new site personnel and updated for existing personnel as required.
  • Manage and maintain the on-site injection equipment and product through regular customer site visits, phone calls, and review of available live equipment monitoring data.
  • Enhance overall product reliability in field locations through active participation and training of all customer field personnel on proper handling, transloading, recirculation, waste and disposal procedures.
  • Continually update asset management database for all work performed, product issues, and any other pertinent data related to equipment and product performance.
  • Provide effective and courteous customer service, technical support, and troubleshooting via telephone and regular field visits to customer locations.
  • Facilitate purchasing of necessary non-standard components and spare parts as required and assure compliance with appropriate company and department requirements.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of parts and materials for all assigned locations as needed to ensure availability for timely corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Support Sales in developing commercial relationships and customer account strategies.
  • Provide input to ensure that product and injection systems meet customer needs in a way that enhances LSPI's image in the marketplace.
  • Implement LSPI process objectives at customer field site locations.
  • Maintain and improve LSPI's Quality System procedures relating to field implementation of product and injection systems.
  • Provide backup support and vacation relief to other team members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
