Meaningful work and Personal Impact The work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of PM GS supporting the Vehicle Optics Sensor System (VOSS) sustainment. You will play a crucial role in VOSS who provides Army Combat Engineers; Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel with a vehicle mounted standoff optical capability to visually scan, identify and locate suspected Explosive Hazards, Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) and personnel while the vehicle is stationary or on the move. As an IBD-SS VOSS Sustainment FSR you must be capable of performing analyses of system operations Fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components. Routine system maintenance and analysis functions including: Hardware configurations; adding, removing and replacing hardware components; and use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools. Providing communication engineering, technical, and logistical support to the Government. Provide engineering support to design and update, as needed, satellite communications plans and network architecture. Technical support to develop and maintain communications sustainment plans and directly assist with or complete troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of communication networks. Technical support to directly assist via a web and satellite phone-based help desk. Continue to provide support for maintenance and upgrades as required. Provide continuing technical advice and assistance, maintenance, and repair support to the Government. Executing all required firmware and software upgrades and shall establish and execute a return materiel authorization (RMA) program.

Requirements

  • AA/AS with 8-10 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. (11 years w/o AS/AA, and 12 years w/o HS)
  • Security clearance level: Secret Clearance (Day One)
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components
  • Needs to possess power grounding, computer, and installation experience
  • Primarily supports hardware family - Communications Device such as but not limited to: Harris Radios (AN/PRC-150A, AN/VRC-104, AN/PRC-152, AN/PRC-117F, and AN/PRC-117G); Thales Radios (PRC-148); Secure, Mobile, Anti-Jam, Reliable, Tactical-Terminal (SMART-T) (AN/TSC-154); RADIO SET installation kit AN/VRC-90F, AN/VRC-92F; OE-254/GRC Antenna System; HAWKEYE ANTENNA PETAL HAWAKEY FLEX WAVEGUIDE 0130-6000-02T:BEACONREC, 0177-000-01T:MODEM; RADIO TERMINAL SET (TROPO) AN/TRC-10 (V)3; HIGH CAPACITY LINE OF SIGHT (HCLOS); SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (PHOENIX) AN/TSC-156; and TYAD COMSEC & Radio's AN/PYQ-10A. Specializes in supporting radios: Harris/Thales/SINCGARS
  • Capable of supporting Day/Night Vision Device or System such as but not limited to: Night Vision Devices / Goggles, including Enhanced Night Vision Goggle, AN/PSQ-20); Thermal Weapons Sights (TWS); Vehicle Optics Sensor System (VOSS); Remote-VOSS (R-VOSS) (Sensor Data Interconnect Kit) (SDIK). Specializes in supporting Thermal Weapons Sights (TWS) and Night Vision Devices / Goggles, including Enhanced Night Vision Goggle, AN/PSQ-20)
  • Bending, Carrying, Climbing, Define Color, Depth Perception, Field of Vision, Hearing High Noise Levels, Medium Work – Normal Requirements Lift 50 lbs., Reaching, Requires Personal Protective Equipment, Speaking, Standing, Work Area Subject to Vibration, Work Includes Visual Inspections Working around Hazards, working both Inside and Outside, Working with Computers/CRTs
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, and current U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity and 4 blank pages); must also meet all medical deployment requirements through CRC
  • Support personnel and customer will be based out of Kuwait on 48 hours work week, 8 hours per day, 6 days per week, however personnel are expected to travel within SWA as required by mission
  • On Customer Site Full Time, travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas to support mission
  • Must be capable of meeting & maintaining standards of fitness for deployment to the SWA of Operations and be able to withstand physical demands of seasonal hot or cold temperatures and willing to live and operate in an austere environment with the ability to meeting physical demands of the position that can included but not limited to: ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, kneel, squat, stand and other physical requirements to meet the position
  • Must have required PPE equipment required for SWA
