The Field Service Representative for Power Services at Schneider Electric plays a crucial role in servicing, installing, and maintaining electrical distribution equipment in various environments. This position emphasizes customer collaboration, problem-solving, and technical proficiency, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and effectively. The role offers a flexible home-based work schedule with a guaranteed 40-hour work week, along with opportunities for overtime and extensive training.

  • Servicing, installing, and repairing customer equipment.
  • Performing warranty work and start-up service.
  • Conducting Startup/Commissioning on equipment across the Schneider Electric product portfolio.
  • Testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting, and part component replacement services on customer products.
  • Constructing and testing circuits and equipment utilizing various tools and machines such as computers, workstations, circuit diagrams, and test instruments/equipment.
  • Providing technical support in product service, product training, and applications including on-site audits.
  • Supporting serviceable Schneider equipment including electrical switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, PLCs, HMIs, Drives, power monitoring equipment, and protective relays.
  • Documenting all required information for each site (technical report).
  • Analyzing complex problems in equipment and machinery and interpreting maintenance manuals to isolate and correct faults.
  • Assisting in developing design modifications and providing installation support for modifications.
  • Developing and implementing training courseware and providing training to customers and other service representatives.
  • Traveling for both training and to support job site requirements in other areas.
  • Vocational education, military training, or transferable experience in electronics, electrical theory, or a similar discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant mechanical, electrical, and/or power distribution service experience.
  • Technical proficiency in electronic/electrical component theory.
  • Experience writing reports and presenting information to managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience in testing, maintenance, and/or upgrades in low or medium voltage switchgear, transformers, relay protection systems, and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and other service documents, including various electrical drawings.
  • Capacity to move service equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric products and services.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in field service operations.
