About The Position

We are disrupting the industry by developing revolutionary aircraft. AeroVironment is looking for capable, flexible team players who are interested in working for an innovative and growing company that supports Medium UAS (MUAS) effort. The JUMP20 is our flagship UAV platform and is a fully autonomous air vehicle using a GUI to interface with the Operator.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training with 5+ years experience in manned or unmanned aviation either fixed wing or rotorcraft as a pilot, flight engineer or mechanic.
• Active SECRET or TS Clearance level.
• AVO -- UAV operator experience (1000 hours).
• Fixed wing experience (500 hours).
• MECH -- UAV experience (3 Years).
• Rotor experience (3 years).
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
• Fluent in computers, networking, and various GUI programs.
• Ability to work well in a team environment, with little to no amenities.
• Maritime experience operating UAS platforms.
• Be available to do extended OCONUS travel for up to 5-month deployments.

Nice To Haves

• Previous OCONUS unmanned systems operations experience in a US military services environment is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills.
• Special operations experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field Service Representative II candidates are reviewed and selected through a series of phone and video conferences.
• Selected individuals are invited to Petaluma or various flying sites to begin a six-week training course.
• Upon receiving certification, Field Service Representatives (FSR's) are deployed to Forward Operating Base or Maritime sites to be part of personnel teams.
• FSRs are trained as Mechanics and/or Operators and assigned additional duties on site.
• Deployment rotations can vary between 3 to 5 months, with up to several months off before the next assignment.
• There are very little to no job requirements during the downtime and FSRs can live anywhere they choose.
