About The Position

The Field Service Manager at Komatsu is responsible for overseeing and enhancing field service operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. This role emphasizes safety, leadership, and effective management of field projects while fostering a professional environment for the service team. The position requires a strong commitment to the company's ZERO Harm Culture and involves collaboration with various departments to achieve operational goals.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership acumen.
  • 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • A two-year Mechanical Degree or a two-year Electrical Degree with mechanical influence and 3-5 years of experience in the service industry, or 5-10 years of service maintenance experience.
  • 3-5 years in a management/leadership role with 10-30 direct and indirect reports.
  • Mining equipment background preferred.

  • Technical aptitude for understanding Komatsu mining equipment.
  • Resource planning skills (Machining, Tooling, Equipment, Manpower).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, and develop effective working relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to diffuse emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to coordinate customer needs even after hours.
  • Some knowledge of accounting to understand and manage budget.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the field service team, promoting a ZERO Harm Culture.
  • Direct the Komatsu Way on SLQDC (Safety, Legal, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
  • Oversee the overall quality of field service repairs and act as a resident expert on OE equipment.
  • Manage field projects, providing estimated costs and timelines for proposals to the Operations Manager/Sales Department.
  • Develop and execute capital spending plans to support the department.
  • Support and interact with other departments, particularly sales, to align goals and opportunities.
  • Foster a professional attitude among Field Service employees, ensuring respectful treatment of customers and colleagues.
  • Manage the P & L of the field service department, understanding financial aspects and company objectives.
