About The Position
Clean Harbors in Allentown, PA is seeking a Field Service Foreperson to join our safety-conscious team. This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Field Technicians. The Foreperson and Technicians will be tasked with performing various duties associated with emergency response, including emergency spill cleanup, hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation (tank and pit cleaning), equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. The role emphasizes the importance of health and safety, ensuring that all operations are conducted in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other health and safety standards. As a Field Service Foreperson, you will play a crucial role in managing large-scale field service and emergency response projects. You will be responsible for training and mentoring Field Service Technicians, ensuring that they adhere to safety protocols and perform their tasks efficiently. The position requires a strong understanding of project management, as you will need to communicate effectively with the Coordinator regarding manpower, equipment, and resources necessary for successful project execution. You will also engage in strenuous physical labor, which includes lifting and pulling heavy objects, operating light and heavy equipment, and using various hand and powered industrial tools. The work environment can be challenging, as you will be required to work in various temperatures and weather conditions, often in atmospheres with potential exposure to hazardous materials. The role may also involve working at heights, climbing ladders, and scaffolding, and performing field sampling activities. You will be expected to complete associated paperwork, such as vehicle and equipment inspections, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, you may be required to be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis, which adds an element of unpredictability to the job.
