Interested? Learn more at www.veeco.com/careers.  Overview: Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco’s technology and drive customer satisfaction through support. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and Veeco Wet Processing equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical area and a minimum of 2 years of experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Military training and experience are welcome.  
  • Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controls
  • System integration, test, and debug skills
  • Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment
  • Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needs
  • Ability to build excellent customer relationships
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Able to travel extensively within North America to perform Field Service duties. Occasional international travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up all customer’s and Veeco’s protocols related to safety and security
  • Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs
  • Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as contact for onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for Veeco customers
  • Report all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports
  • Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies
