As a Field Service Engineer at Mettler Toledo, you will be responsible for conducting on-site installations, customer training, repairs, and preventative maintenance for assigned instrumentation. This role supports North American Service Operations and involves collaboration with various departments to ensure customer satisfaction and effective service delivery throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Conduct on-site installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of assigned AutoChem instrumentation.
  • Provide field service support and expertise to AutoChem end-users on assigned equipment throughout the product's lifecycle.
  • Communicate, document, and manage customer issues with Sales, TAC, Product Management, Service, and Quality departments as required.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and track open service issues to resolution.
  • Document and report scheduling, utilization, expense, and escalation in a timely manner.
  • Proactively control scheduling and territory assignments with effective expense management at or below budget.
  • Education in a chemistry, mechanical, or electrical field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience, including internships or educational lab experience.
  • Ability to travel around 80%, with around 60% overnight travel and 20% local.
  • Software and hardware literacy and proficiency of Windows-based and embedded operating systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Experience with infrared reaction profiling equipment.
  • Familiarity with laser crystallization monitoring equipment.
  • Experience with automated lab reactor systems.
