About the position

The GCMS FSE Generalist provides high-level support to the Field Service Engineering group based in Trumbull, CT. Job duties include investigating and resolving technical inquiries, addressing customer engineering requests, and reviewing technical manuals to support the Sikorsky commercial fleet. The candidate must be a customer service-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will promote the safe and efficient operation of fielded commercial helicopters by providing expert-level technical advice and assistance to their owners and operators. The position requires extensive hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of Sikorsky's commercial products. Candidate must be highly skilled in the interpretation of technical publications, engineering drawings, specifications and other technical data. They must also be able to provide technical support and insight to internal Sikorsky functions such as Product Safety, Programs, Material, Quality, Analytics & Technology and others as required. The successful candidate will interface with functional engineering routinely and be able to make sound decisions within a risk management framework to support the demanding needs of Sikorsky helicopter operators. The optimal candidate will have a demonstrated working knowledge of helicopter operation and design with a deep understanding of root cause / corrective action determination. In addition, the candidate must be trained and comply with ITAR/EAR export regulations as they relate to Sikorsky policy on distribution of technical data and services. The candidate should have an FAA A&P license or equivalent demonstrated Rotary/Sikorsky work experience in field maintenance. Degreed engineers with relevant experience may also apply.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 10+ years of total experience working with S-92, S-76, and/or S-70/H60 platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience in an aviation aftermarket technical support role.
  • Experience working directly with and/or for Sikorsky customers.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • High level IT system experience including Microsoft365 suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical problems.
  • Familiarity with internal Sikorsky engineering systems and processes.
  • Expertise with aircraft maintenance manuals, drawings, and flight operations.
  • Authorized ITC jurisdiction and classification (J/C) reviewer.
