About The Position

You may be interested in the Field Service Engineer position that we have available! It’s an opportunity to join a team that meets the 24/7 data center maintenance needs of local customers with a focus on delivering exceptional service with each interaction. This role requires driving to different customer sites within a 100-mile radius for assigned service calls. You will use your own vehicle and be reimbursed for travel expenses. Additionally, you’ll also participate in periodic training and occasional out-of-state travel.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with at least a basic knowledge of computer hardware
  • Availability for on-call rotation to support customer needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching

Nice To Haves

  • Prior field service experience is a plus but not required
  • A+ and/or Server Plus certifications preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on data center hardware, including mid-to-high-end servers and storage devices
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Provide exceptional service by responding quickly and efficiently to customer needs
  • Communicate with confidence to ensure customers feel supported and their concerns are addressed
  • Identify and proactively escalate potential technical issues
  • Assist with data center relocations and inventory audits
  • Interpret maintenance manuals and collaborate with engineers to resolve complex issues
  • Troubleshoot technical problems efficiently while managing multiple tasks
  • Stay updated on industry advancements through training and certification programs
  • Serve as a technical expert during sales calls when needed
  • Document and share resolutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency
  • Prepare thorough audits and maintain documentation of service calls
  • Proactively analyze and prepare for service calls to ensure quick and effective solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and customer interactions
  • Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and sales
