The individual with this position will have to coordinate between the machine shop, quotation department and the customer. This position will consist of on-site work and field service work. This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on tasks along with office responsibilities. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of the on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate.

Requirements

• Preferred 3 years' experience in rotating equipment repairs.
• Experience in rotating equipment manufacturing, package design and assembly, vibration analysis, and field service overhauls.
• Proficient with CAD software: AutoDesk or Solidworks.
• Knowledge of rolling element bearings, sleeve babbitt bearings, oil seals and their functionality, vibration spectrums and how to interpret them, alignment, dynamic balancing, and metallurgical analysis.
• Proficient in the usage of micrometers.
• Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the communication to the customers on the mechanical portion of the repair.
• Be involved on the discovery side of the inspections to assist in developing an accurate work scope.
• Proficient in CAD software to document design changes and create drawings to be shared with the customers.
• Be hands-on and involved in the day-to-day operations.
• Perform or confirm precise measurements using micrometers and calipers.
• Use electrical test tools to determine the condition of equipment.
