About The Position

Auburn, recently acquired by the Nederman Group, is a leading developer of sensors, controls, and software focused on improving operational efficiency and ensuring EPA compliance for large air pollution control systems, powder processing filters, and industrial dust collection/ventilation systems. Their products and services are crucial for preventing hazardous particulate emissions, improving filtration, and controlling industrial dust. The Field Service Engineer will apply practical engineering knowledge to deliver assigned tasks and projects under general supervision. This role involves contributing to product design, testing, and problem-solving, working collaboratively with production, sales, and service teams. The engineer will be responsible for executing defined engineering work packages, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting the delivery of reliable, compliant products and systems. Success in this position requires strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and the capacity to deliver quality results within established timelines and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) required.
  • 1–3 years of professional engineering experience in a relevant field.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, automation, or product development environments.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools and standards (CAD modeling, electrical panel design, or PLC/HMI programming).
  • Ability to solve moderately difficult problems with general supervision.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and compliance practices.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with general supervision, contributing independently to assigned tasks and projects.
  • Share knowledge with peers and support collaboration across functions.
  • Work closely with senior service staff to coordinate customer site activities and share lessons learned with engineering.
  • Deliver defined engineering tasks to required scope, cost, and timeline.
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs; document service reports and collect customer data.
  • Apply technical knowledge to moderately difficult problems using established methods.
  • Develop strong troubleshooting methodology; apply diagnostic tools to resolve equipment issues.
  • Provide first-line engineering support to customers and internal teams.
  • Resolve customer service issues directly; escalate complex issues when required.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with company standards, safety requirements, and ISO procedures.
  • Ensure work meets safety, compliance, and documentation standards on-site.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency or quality improvements in daily work.
  • Provide feedback from customer sites to drive product and service improvements.
