As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Cellular Analysis instruments. Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems. Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems Performs maintenance and repairs Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business. Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software. Train other field engineers and customers on the solutions. Territory Coverage The ideal candidate will reside in MD and be close to a metro area. The position requires an active driver's license. Company Vehicle Program: Vehicle mileage reimbursement is eligible for this territory. Territory: MD, VA, covering WV, and OH as needed. Overnight Travel 50% and could include weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel, as needed. Job Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to, post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is a requirement of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or other university-level degrees within the science field -- e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology or similar-- are highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 4+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting
  • Experience or expertise with Liquid handling equipment and UV/FL/LUM detection products
  • Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution-focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position

  • The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $53.13/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
