The Jenoptik Smart Mobility Solutions division offers photonics-based, innovative and sustainable solutions, including technologies and services for traffic safety, public safety and toll control. Requirements

  • Position is located in Prince Georges County
  • 4-year degree or Certification in the electrical/technical field
  • Prior field engineering and electrical experience essential
  • 3 years of experience with component-level repair and/or assembly in a workshop
  • Service experience in camera, radar, laser, photo, and/or optical systems is very advantageous
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage a challenging workload
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in SAP, or other ERP/MRP database
  • Up to 50% travel possible, international and domestic
  • Valid driver's license and Passport required
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess "soft skills": personal effectiveness, creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and team-building skills
  • Skilled in dealing with people effectively and politely
  • International service experience is desirable

Nice To Haves

  • Service experience in camera, radar, laser, photo, and/or optical systems is very advantageous
  • International service experience is desirable

Responsibilities

  • System design, build, and test, including camera, solar, battery & electrical elements
  • Component repair, maintenance, calibration and certification
  • Onsite installations & training in various locations across the Americas, "gets the job done".
  • Technical Support by e-mail, phone, or onsite for our customers in the Americas
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints and identifying solutions
  • Responsible for documentation of service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records for quality control purposes
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
