About The Position

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and expert team responsible for supporting customers with on-site service. This includes installing and optimizing hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites, diagnosing and resolving product performance problems, and performing maintenance and repairs. The role also involves ensuring customer satisfaction by advising on preventive maintenance and configurations, providing limited application support, and proactively responding to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruptions. You will deliver fully integrated solutions, train other field engineers and customers, serve as an internal technical resource, and lead product customer escalations. Collaboration with various Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D is also a key aspect of the role. The candidate must reside in central New Jersey and consent to participate in and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelors, master's or other university degree in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or other life science field preferred; may consider a candidate with equivalent combination of education, training and significant experience
  • 4+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience with Pharma, Biotechnology, GMP and GLP environments
  • Demonstration of logical troubleshooting
  • Ability to tackle high impact problems related to product availability; typically, system/ solution focused
  • Customer service and solutions oriented
  • Ability to travel extensively including overnight travel as decided by business needs
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position
  • Must consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Agilent LC, LC-MS, GC, and GC-MS experience is a plus
  • Experience with the Agilent solutions is desired but not crucial
  • Familiarity with other OEM and mass spectroscopy equipment highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install and optimize hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
  • Perform maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure customer happiness by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
  • Leverage proven experience to provided limited application support
  • Proactively respond to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers business
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software
  • Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions
  • Serve as an internal resource on technical issues and leads product customer escalations
  • Collaborate with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers
  • May have knowledge of third-party products
  • May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers
  • May calibrate equipment
  • May qualify leads
  • Consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites
