About the position

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be the frontline expert ensuring our equipment operates at peak efficiency. Your hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting skills will directly impact our customers' satisfaction and production success. By executing precise preventive maintenance and swiftly resolving issues, you'll minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly. Your role is critical to maintaining our reputation for reliability and innovation, driving customer loyalty, and ultimately contributing to the company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage hands on daily activities of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide superior reports to the back office.
  • Mainly located on or assigned to a customer but travel to other locations as required by manager.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute planned preventive major maintenance activities to a high standard and in line with agreed procedures, ensuring effective operation of equipment.
  • Provide production support post maintenance to bring the line to pre maintenance efficiencies or highest while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve both mechanical and automation malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Conduct systematic root cause analysis of problems to ensure permanent resolution and/or escalate with a proper problem description and documentation when root cause is not identified.
  • Handle claims and provide technical support and guidance to escalated claims per the claims process and through the quality department, including root cause analysis.
  • Install rebuilding kits according to procedures and reinstate equipment into production environment with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze, identify and take action on system performance issues, implementing correct and approved operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Engineering Associates degree, preferably electrical or mechanical.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in technical/equipment/machinery experience in an equipment manufacturing service based industry.
  • Customer site and packaging line knowledge, Carton and packaging technology, Aseptic a plus.
  • Language Skills: English fluent in speaking and writing & Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish and/or German).
  • At least 80% of travel and available for foreign travel; Must reside near a major airport.
  • Proactively communicate and update customers on issues, activities and opportunities to sustain good working relationships and ensure that everyone is kept informed.
  • Communicate efficiently across the customer's organization.
