About The Position

As a valued member of the Hitachi Energy Service business, you will play a pivotal role in delivering reliable energy solutions to customers across North America. In this hands-on position, you work directly with high-voltage equipment at customer sites, leading installations, modifications, and repairs for advanced GIS systems. You represent Hitachi Energy with professionalism and integrity, building strong relationships with customers, contractors, and local communities. You'll tackle technical challenges, make important decisions on-site, and ensure each project's success. Your work will help modernize the power grid and support the safety of communities. You'll have the chance to grow your technical and leadership skills, take on complex assignments, and develop expertise in cutting-edge energy technology.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in technical field service work.
  • Technical diploma/degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Experience leading crews on electrical projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software.
  • Able to travel up to 80%, including to Canada and Mexico.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and test high-voltage GIS equipment at customer sites.
  • Lead technical field assignments and make critical decisions.
  • Direct field teams and subcontractors to meet project goals.
  • Ensure construction meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Promote safe practices and meet all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform and document field testing and inspections.
  • Recommend improvements for performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel frequently to project sites, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
