This position reports to the Service Team Lead - Marine & Ports. In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. The work model for the role is remote. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division, and can be located in either Miramar, FL or Houston, TX.

  • Execute service work as per work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation.
  • Communicate service work timeline and expectations to ensure customer retention.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points while on-site.
  • Perform field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Act as a trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
  • Associate's degree or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or other technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marine field service.
  • Must be capable and comfortable working within confined spaces including vessels, propulsion systems, Cofferdams, etc.
  • Up to 85% travel required (domestic and international, includes weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and design technical drawings and schematics utilizing computer design software (AutoCAD).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or similar field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in the marine field service preferred.
  • Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipyard dry docking activities preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine propulsion, power generation and power distribution preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine steering systems (hydraulic & electrical) preferred.
  • Experience with confined space entry, work environment preferred.
