About The Position

Spend your days traveling (in a company-provided vehicle) to hospitals and laboratories throughout the upstate New York area, from Albany to Buffalo, providing critical assistance and support to customers who are advancing the future of healthcare. As a Field Service Engineer for our Global Commercial Operations Group, you'll perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science instruments, ensuring the quality performance of our equipment for the people who rely it. You'll also respond to emergencies and occasionally assist colleagues throughout the Hawaiian Islands on short notice, applying your thorough knowledge of our products to advocate for customers and deliver the highest levels of service and support. Travel of up to 75% will be expected.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment.
• An A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
• Ability to read, understand and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
• Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.

Nice To Haves

• Hands on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's instruments.
• Supporting and maintaining the Bio-Rad instruments on which our customers rely on to make scientific breakthroughs.
• Building and sustaining strong relationships with customers to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
• Adhering to FDA and GMP regulations and requirements with detailed record keeping and service documentation.
