The Field Service Engineer II- Pathology Imaging for Leica Biosystems is responsible for supporting the needs of our customers, which directly impacts patient health and overall well-being. This position is part of the Pathology Imaging Field Service Team supporting he Western U.S. and will be fully remote, ideally located in Southern California, or San Francisco. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Field Service Team and report to the Regional Field Service Manager responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs. Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 3+ years of technical experience OR Bachelor's of Science in a related field OR Equivalent military experience (Applicants with applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Ability to travel - up to 90% domestically, with frequent overnight across the Western US with short lead times
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record to meet fleet requirements
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lb, any other physical requirements

  • Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.
  • Field Service Engineering.
  • Networking/IT system upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on Pathology Imaging mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments, as well as provide subject matter expertise on one or more product lines, with the ability to handle on-site customer escalations.
  • Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.
  • Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives & service team members with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance to generate service revenue.
