About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field, develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs, apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools, assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens, complete training in line with skill and business requirements, and ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to their supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
• Ability to develop productive customer relations
• Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures
• Proficiency in using specialized tools for engine repairs
• Strong documentation skills for service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents

Nice To Haves

• Experience coaching and developing technicians or apprentices
• Familiarity with business system input screens for documentation

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field
• Develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
• Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance
• Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms
• Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
• Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to their supervisor
• Establish and continually develop productive customer relations
• Diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site using specialized tools
• Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field
• Escalate unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor
• Coach and develop technicians and/or apprentices and transfer knowledge and experience to others
• Identify additional sales and service opportunities with customers
• Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
