About The Position

We're seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer to support automated systems in the Life Science industry. This position will be based out of Cookeville, TN, however local and worldwide travel will be required. This role also includes troubleshooting and providing field service for these systems. You will work on innovative automation projects, tackling complex challenges for a variety of industries. Requirements

  • BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a related engineering role.
  • Life Science equipment and validation familiarity.
  • Local and Worldwide travel required up to 75%.
  • PLC : Allen Bradley (Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal)
  • HMI : Allen Bradley, Siemens
  • Robotics : Fanuc, Epson
  • Networking : Ethernet, Ethernet IP, Profinet, IO Link, Ethercat
  • Motion Control : AB, Siemens, IAI, Festo, B&R, etc.
  • Vision Systems : Cognex, Keyence

  • PLC : Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Beckhoff
  • HMI : Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Proface
  • Robotics : Kuka, Yaskawa, Denso, Staubli
  • Testing/Monitoring : Force (Kistler, SigPOD), Leak Testing (CTS, Cosmo, etc.)
  • Database Tools : Ignition, FTTM, SQL
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites, planned and unplanned, for support, troubleshooting, repair, etc.
  • Make necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
  • Provide remote support through various means of connectivity.
  • Create, read, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical drawings and bills of material using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Robot programming and path editing to restore, maintain, or optimize system performance.
  • Develop advanced programs to control devices and machines.
  • Perform electrical testing with a multimeter.
  • Apply proper wiring practices to ensure safe, reliable systems.
  • Design ladder logic and machine controls with strong proficiency in related software.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define machine performance requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of electrical and pneumatic devices.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers to build team capability.
