About the position
Terracon is seeking a Field Scientist/Engineer to join the Regulatory Compliance team in Dallas, Texas. This role involves managing and participating in various regulatory compliance projects, ensuring that clients' facilities adhere to environmental regulations. The position requires field inspections, data collection, and the preparation of technical documents related to environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage and participate in regulatory compliance projects under CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, and other environmental statutes.
- Conduct field inspections, stormwater sampling, and construction stormwater inspections.
- Prepare permit applications and technical documents including proposals, reports, and Limited Environmental Compliance Assessments (LECAs).
- Conduct research and prepare SPCC plans, SWPPPs, and Tier II reports for various facilities.
- Evaluate moderately complex laboratory and field data and compile written reports.
- Assist in data collection and analysis from sampling, reports, maps, and tests.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects and ensure safety practices are followed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, chemical engineering, or related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in a regulatory compliance role preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- Ability to perform site visits and field data collection including inspections and sampling.
- Demonstrated high level of technical writing ability.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
