About The Position

BSN SPORTS, a Varsity Brands company, is the largest team sporting goods equipment and apparel distributor in the United States, with over 50 years of experience. The company's mission is to save coaches and administrators time off the field so they can focus more on impacting young lives on it. A Field Sales Professional is responsible for optimizing the full cycle sales in an assigned territory and servicing customers, representing Varsity Brands by demonstrating core values and driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-direction and autonomy in managing tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiently prioritize and manage tasks, demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM.
  • Cultivate an in-home office environment that is distraction-free.
  • 3+ years' business-to-business (B2B) outside sales experience (preferably in sporting goods) OR coaching/sports-related background.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class, consultative customer service to coaches across an assigned territory.
  • Generate revenue and meet sales/growth targets.
  • Actively develop and qualify leads within respective territory through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns.
  • Handle rejection and turn challenges into opportunities.
  • Navigate multiple functions within the company’s CRM, including prospecting, account management, and activity tracking, to support sales and customer relationship efforts.
  • Increase sales in existing accounts by selling to all sports at all levels.
  • Utilize data-driven business intelligence on prospects to identify new trends and opportunities.
  • Manage your account list and travel on location within your assigned territory.
