About The Position

The Field Safety Specialist partners with a variety of Grainger customers across industries. Conducts hazard and risk assessments to identify customer needs and opportunities to improve their programs. Using Grainger's products, services and resources, designs solutions to reduce those hazards and risks while expanding the Grainger business relationship with these organizations. In collaboration with the aligned Grainger sales team, contributes to the development of strategies for target customers in support of their needs across a territory. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience including the fields of Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health required
  • 3+ years of Environmental Health and Safety industry experience required
  • Experience conducting workplace safety assessments, hazard mitigation, and improving compliance.
  • Knowledgeable of Safety, Health and Environmental practices and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Experience consulting on safety and managing safety programs.
  • Experience managing projects and collaborating to achieve goal.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess customer facilities to identify existing hazards and potential risk to position Grainger products, services and solutions to reduce risk to an acceptable level.
  • Engage internal and external resources to create solutions to solve Grainger customer’s EHS challenges.
  • Create a risk-ranked implementation plan with customer based on probability and severity of potential risk within the customer’s operation.
  • Validate proposed and implemented solutions have solved the customer’s business challenges.
  • Leverage post-implementation success to gain more information from the customer about future needs.
  • Stay informed of changes in safety regulations and industry trends and proactively share that information with customers in the assigned geography.
  • Educate customers on technology and innovation that can impact their business.
  • Establish and maintain customer and business partner relationships.
  • Expand customer understanding and use of Grainger's standard product and service capabilities.
