About The Position

We’re looking for a Field Safety Specialist to work under the supervision of Corporate Loss Control and in conjunction with the Safety Manager and Safety Director to provide safety support on projects of various sizes and day-to-day business operations. Focused on preventing and mitigating employee injuries and illnesses, the Field Safety Technician assists field employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company policies and governmental regulations such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and NFPA. This role provides consistent field presence and promotes a proactive safety culture across all projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in the construction industry with an emphasis on safety.
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926/1910 and ability to apply regulations to jobsites and operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple project locations.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and ensure compliance with company safety programs in the field.
  • Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices on job sites.
  • Assist field employees and subcontractors with all aspects of safety compliance.
  • Monitor and manage the effectiveness of implemented safety plans, hazard controls, and programs.
  • Perform routine job walks and focused inspections, uploading documentation into Procore.
  • Participate in daily JSA meetings and support weekly safety meetings.
  • Perform job hazard analyses to identify risks and stop work if unacceptable safety or environmental risks exist.
  • Assist with enforcing compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and NFPA.
  • Participate in reporting processes for incident and accident investigations.
  • Gather data, support investigative teams, and assist in documentation management.
  • Carry out safety duties in accordance with company policies and support the enforcement of project-specific safety plans and expectations.
  • Assist in program development, attend meetings, and provide proactive safety solutions to team members.
  • Routinely travel to both local and remote jobsites to monitor compliance.
  • Inspect fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to identify possible unsafe conditions.
  • Support other safety team members in collecting information for the monthly safety newsletter.
  • Climb scaffolds, enter confined spaces, and assess working conditions as required.
  • Champion the monthly employee recognition program.
