About The Position

The Field Representative position at Thomas & Hutton involves providing construction observation services for land development projects, particularly focusing on utilities and pavement construction. The role serves as a liaison between project managers and contractors, assisting in the administration of construction contracts and ensuring effective communication and project management. Requirements

  • Construction Management Degree or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
  • Previous internship or experience in the construction field.
  • Familiarity with erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control; CEPCI certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pavement construction.
  • Ability to understand project plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication, verbal, and written skills.
  • Ability to produce concise reporting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Civil 3D Software Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine construction observation services for land development projects involving utilities and pavement construction under periodic supervision.
  • Serve as a liaison between the supervisor or Project Manager and contractor.
  • Assist Project Managers in effectively administering construction contracts.
  • Seek appropriate guidance in resolving various project-related issues.
  • Prepare project-related correspondence as appropriate.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and client needs.
  • Visit project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in meetings on behalf of the company with clients, contractors, or resource agencies as appropriate.
  • Arrange and conduct job progress meetings.
  • Maintain a daily job log and be completely familiar with plans and specifications.
  • Have some initial supervised exposure to clients.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or assigned by supervisor.
