About The Position
Responsible for assisting Environmental Health Specialists control vectors of communicable diseases such as mosquitoes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
- No experience required
- Forty hours of in-house training on vector control activities
- Valid Class C Texas driver's license
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Nice To Haves
- 6 months experience with vector control and surveillance activities such as larviciding, adulticiding, and sample collection
- Knowledge of basic biological and chemical principals
- Ability to work under moderate stress and relate well to a highly varied community public
Responsibilities
- Collect mosquito samples for disease testing and surveillance.
- Apply mosquito larvae control chemicals/biologicals to standing water.
- Respond to other citizen vector concerns as directed.
